The Randi Rhodes Show Message Forum Rules



SECTION 1: GENERAL RULES


1) This forum is provided to promote free speech and lively political discussion. Anyone is eligible to join. We do not discriminate on the basis of philosophical, political, or religious affiliation or opinion. To continue using the Randi Rhodes Message Board you must follow the rules of the Board.



2) There will be no personal attacks or threats against other board members. If you disagree with another member's facts, focus on the fact not the person who posted it. Racist, sexist, or hate speech will not be allowed. Stick to discussion of the issues. Please do not use excessive foul language on the board.



3) No member may spam or flood topics, or post a message with the sole intent to sow upset and discord. Please do not flood the board with long, whole article posts. Any member doing this may lose his board privileges. If you are posting an article from another website and author, please only post a few paragraphs and link to the rest of the article using your "http://" button.



4) No plagiarism is allowed on this board.



5) If any member has issue with another member's post, notify the Moderator by e-mail or PM. The Moderator will then view the post in question and decide if further action is necessary.



6) Do not post another member's personal information such as real name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, etc. anywhere on the board or link to such personal information using a hyperlink from a post on the board. This will result in the post being deleted and revocation of that posters board privileges permanently.



7) Once a member's board privileges have been revoked they will not be reinstated for any reason.



8) We reserve the right to ban anyone for any reason, and to delete any post for any reason.



9) Do not post messages attacking the Moderators or Administrators. All of the moderators on this discussion board are volunteers. They provide their time and their good judgment to this website free of charge.



10) Do not publicly post private messages you receive from Moderator and Administrator.



11) Do not post or link to pornographic, or objectionable material. Final judgment will be by the Administrators or Moderators.



12) Any attempt to skirt around the Rules set for this board will result in disciplinary action. That action will be up to the Administrator or Moderator.



13) Before any disciplinary action of any kind is taken the offender will be notified by e-mail of the situation. This may be a warning or a notice of revocation of privileges.



14) While insulting name calling of other board members is not allowed, it is permitted to call political figures names, but please use your best judgment. Remember all posts are subject to editing or deletion if brought to the attention of the Moderator or Administrator and is found to be overly offensive.



15) User Names may NOT include names of people on the show (Randi, Tim Allan, Jenny, Jay, etc...) OR be derogatory towards a group of people; A member may not own more than one username (sock puppets)- Do not use multiple usernames to
disrupt the message board or to bypass any other board rule (i.e. flooding topics, bumping, or otherwise sewing discord). This may result in the banning/blocking of any/all of the offending accounts.



16) YOUR FREEDOM TO LEAVE---All visitors to the Randi Rhodes Message Board are here voluntarily. Nobody is forcing you to post on this message board. The administrators and Moderatosr try their best to be fair, and to make The Randi Rhodes Message Board a welcoming place for the politically minded who want to be here and participate in a lively exchange of ideas. If you don't like Randi Rhodes, or the members of the Randi Rhodes Message Board, or the way we run the Randi Rhodes Message Board, then we strongly suggest that you exercise your right to leave.



17) By posting or submitting any materials, including but not limited to (any jokes, creative material, remarks, program (or any other) ideas, graphics, photos, comments, product concepts, advertising concepts or ideas, and suggestions for improving or changing existing content) to this website, (or by mail, fax, telephone, or any other means of communication) you automatically grant (or warrant that the owner of such rights has expressly granted) to Air America Radio and its parent company, Progress Media, a royalty-free, nonexclusive, perpetual and irrevocable right and license to use, reproduce, modify, publish, edit, translate, perform, display and distribute such materials alone or as part of other works in any form or technology now known or later developed, (you waive any moral rights you may have in having the material altered or changed in a manner not agreeable to you) and to sublicense such rights through multiple tiers of sub-licensees.



18) All new members will start as Tentative Members of the board and will be placed in the 'newbie probation' group.

The duration of newbie probation will be 20 posts. During this probationary period unreasonable criticism, derogatory or inflammatory comments will not be tolerated and will result in being banned from the message board. While in newbie probation, any 'newbie' bashing the Randi Rhodes Show, Randi, her staff, the message board, Air America Radio, its shows, hosts or staff will be considered a disruptor. Their IP, and e-mail will be banned from the board.

Furthermore, baiting topics or comments meant to annoy, heckle or badger are not allowed. Any newbie posting a controversial viewpoint must be prepared to defend their position. 'Dropping Bombs', 'Hit And Run' posts will result in a moderator or administrator blocking all of the newbie's messages for a period of 14 days. Blocked messages will be previewed before posting on the message board.

After 20 posts the member will be come a full member of the board and have full rights and privileges and can begin to create/start their own topics.





19) No bumping topics



20) Signatures can not be more than 300 characters in length or include photos bigger than 400 x 150 pixels. This ensures enjoyment of the forums for all by cutting down on scrolling.



21) you must be 18 or have parental consent to use this board.

SECTION 2 - Defenition of Terms


Troll: User that posts derogatory or inflammatory comments on the message board with the sole intent to sow discord.



Dropping bombs: Posting comments to annoy, heckle or badger other members or to disrupt a discussion, this often goes hand in hand with "hit and run".



Hit and Run: Making inflammatory or controversial posts, then abandoning the thread, failing to follow up with a defense of your position.
